Predictive market operator Underdog has collaborated with crypto infrastructure provider zerohash to launch cryptocurrency and stablecoin top-up features. This new method of funding is expected to go live later this year.
According to the announcement on Thursday, eligible users will be able to use the Underdog application to directly top up their accounts with supported digital assets; this service is designed to provide 24/7, nearly instant transfers.
Underdog has not specified which cryptocurrencies or stablecoins it will support, nor has it responded to the clarifications requested by Cointelegraph prior to its release.
This new method of depositing funds will complement the existing payment options, including debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers. Users do not need to manage wallet addresses or choose a blockchain network when topping up.
Underdog was established in 2020. According to IG Group, the company has over 11 million registered accounts. IG Group agreed in July to acquire Underdog for up to $1.3 billion, and this transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026 or early 2027.
According to the data from DeFiRate, in the 30 days up to October 21st, the trading volume of Underdog was 1.4 billion US dollars, which represents a 133% increase from the previous period. However, it is still far lower than the 81.5 billion US dollars of Kalshi, as well as the combined 17.2 billion US dollars of Polymarket on both US and international platforms.
