Artificial intelligence company Anthropic is reportedly planning to submit its listing registration documents for S-1 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on October 26 (21:00 Beijing Time tonight). The initial public offering (IPO) process is still proceeding as planned, and the company may officially go public as early as November 19 or 20.
Reporter Liz Kleiman (Liz Claman) revealed the aforementioned arrangements, citing sources with knowledge of the matter. Despite the recent continuous selling of AI related stocks and growing concerns in the market regarding industry valuation and capital expenditure, Anthropic still plans to complete its listing in mid-November.
The S-1 document is scheduled to be made public tonight, and IPO will be launched as soon as November 19th.
On October 26, Kleiman stated on social media that Anthropic is expected to publicly submit the registration documents for S-1 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on the same day, and may conduct IPO as early as November 19th or 20th. She also plans to disclose more details at 3 p.m. Eastern Time (3 a.m. Beijing Time on October 27th).
S-1 is the registration document submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) when a company makes its initial public offering of stocks on the U.S. securities market. It typically contains important information such as the company's business model, financial condition, risk factors, equity structure, and the purpose for which funds are raised.
If Anthropic submits the documents on time, investors will have the opportunity to learn more about its business operations and listing arrangements. However, submitting S-1 does not mean that IPO has already received final approval; the actual issuance date, stock pricing, and financing scale may still be adjusted.
AI sector financing concerns rise, Anthropic listing progress becomes the market focus
The potential listing of Anthropic coincides with a new round of capital market challenges faced by the AI industry. Recently, investors' concerns regarding the massive funds required for the construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure, the financing capabilities of tech companies, and whether high valuations can be sustained by long-term profitability have intensified, leading to a noticeable decline in some AI related stocks.
However, after Anthropic announced its intention to proceed with the release of information regarding IPO as originally planned, some semiconductor stocks saw a turnaround in their performance, indicating that this progress has improved the market sentiment towards the AI sector to some extent.
Anthropic This listing is expected to become one of the most highly anticipated tech IPO of the year. In addition to the issuance valuation and the scale of funds raised, the market will also focus on the company's revenue growth, operating losses, computing power procurement, and capital expenditure needs to assess the commercialization capabilities and long-term profitability prospects of generative AI companies.
