This installation highlights the expansion of Zetwerk's capabilities in the energy sector, against the backdrop of increasing demand in the United States for key power grid equipment that supports AI and data center infrastructure.
Bengaluru, India, October 27th / PRNewswire / -- Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Ltd. (NSE : ZETWERK) (BSE : 545000) is a technology-driven manufacturing company with operations in energy, precision manufacturing, and capital goods. The company and its American subsidiary Unimacts announced that they have completed the installation of a power transformer manufactured by Zetwerk in North Carolina.
Zetwerk's energy business saw its revenue increase to 650.7572 billion rupees (65.0757 billion rupees) in the fiscal year 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of 86.90%, and accounted for 69.42% of its manufacturing business revenue.
This installation marks a milestone in the energy business of Zetwerk. Currently, the electricity demand driven by the expansion of capital expenditures for AI in data centers in the United States is continuously rising, and the modernization of the aging power grid is also underway. The supply of transformers has always struggled to keep up with demand, with an average manufacturing and delivery cycle of 36 to 42 months, which has become a major bottleneck in the expansion of the power grid.
The manufacturing model of Zetwerk helps to shorten delivery times by coordinating cross-border supply chains and implementing vertical integration. This model has reduced the delivery cycle for power transformers in the United States to 12 to 15 months, whereas the industry average in the U.S. is 36 to 42 months, and in India, it was 30 to 36 months for the fiscal year 2026. In the fiscal year 2026, Zetwerk received orders for power transformers worth 203.2252 billion rupees (203.225 billion Indian rupees).
For utility companies, developers, as well as engineering, procurement, and construction ( EPC ) companies, this provides another way to procure equipment for expanding and strengthening the power grid.
Zetwerk, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Srinath Ramakkrushnan stated: "As electricity demand grows, utility companies, developers, and energy infrastructure firms need to reliably access critical power equipment. The supply of transformers has always fallen short, delaying projects that rely on timely delivery. In Zetwerk and Unimacts, we are making up for this gap by coordinating cross-border production. By enhancing our coordination in the transformer supply chain, we aim to make critical equipment more readily available and to help customers expand and strengthen the U.S. power grid."

With the vertical integration of transformer manufacturing capabilities provided by Zetwerk, Unimacts can offer the following to American customers:
- Faster delivery: Helps projects to proceed on schedule even in times of market shortages.
- Value chain control: CRGO Silicon steel sheets, iron cores, iron core and coil components, as well as fuel tanks are all under internal control, thereby enabling simultaneous management of quality and delivery cycles. Additionally, a strategic partnership has been established with long-term suppliers OEM.
- Full range, covering all voltage levels: Six types of transformers, from medium-voltage box-type and dry-type units to those dedicated for inverters, to power transformers with a maximum voltage of 500 MVA and 765 kV, are all manufactured according to the IEEE C57 standard.
- Financing partners: In the fiscal year 2026, international revenue exceeded 277.5355 billion rupees (277.5355 billion rupees), with a robust legal entity in the United States and 7 facilities in the US.
- Scale Support: Backed by Zetwerk, a global manufacturing company with revenues of approximately 159.13 billion rupees (159.13323 billion Indian rupees) and 26 facilities.
Zetwerk's subsidiary, Unimacts, has previously supported several utility-scale solar projects in the United States by manufacturing structural components, including pile foundations and torque tubes. Zetwerk and Unimacts are extending their energy infrastructure capabilities to transformers, which are another key component of the power grid. Zetwerk's portfolio of transformer products includes medium-voltage box-type, dry-type, inverter-specific, and power transformers.
