When people encounter problems with career development or job hunting, they usually leverage their network of contacts to find experts who have been in similar situations and can provide answers. Nowadays, this task is increasingly falling on the shoulders of AI.

SuperMe is a AI profiling network built upon the knowledge of real experts. When users pose questions, the platform determines which experts are most suitable to answer and creates a group chat composed of profiles AI of these experts.

In order to expand this network on both the supply and demand sides – that is, to encourage more users to ask questions and more experts to share their knowledge – this startup announced on Thursday that it had completed a $20 million financing round. This round of financing was led by Kirsten Green from Forerunner, with Greylock Partners also participating.

Casey Winters and Ludo Antonov founded this company in 2024. Both of them have experience working in large consumer companies. Winters has held senior management positions at Grubhub, Pinterest, and Eventbrite, and has also provided consulting services to companies such as Airbnb and Canva on a part-time basis. Antonov has served as the engineering lead at several startups, including Pinterest, Lyft, and Whatnot.

Winters said to TechCrunch during a call, "There are some implicit networks in Silicon Valley that know which people are most skilled in certain niche areas. Our idea is: could we make this network of 'who are the top talents' more transparent? Could we extract the key insights locked in their minds so that more people can access them more easily?"

Users can visit the SuperMe website and enter their questions in the chatbot to initiate an expert group. They can also return to the groups they created or joined to continue asking follow-up questions.

For example, a user might ask: "Help me analyze my financing pitch materials. Which parts of the story are the weakest? What questions do I need to prepare answers for the most?" Subsequently, they can receive detailed feedback from individuals with extensive experience in venture capital, such as Mercedes Bent, Sarah Tavel, and Josh Elman. Users can also directly visit their personal profiles to ask questions individually, without having to do so within a group chat.

In terms of collecting user knowledge, SuperMe scans public sources such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Substack, and blogs. It also retrieves data from connected applications, such as Google Drive, Notion, Gmail, as well as meeting record tools like Granola. SuperMe indicates that some of this data may contain personal information and trade secrets, but the company ensures that such content will not appear in the responses.

The network is currently available for free, but this startup plans to set a limit on the number of questions users can ask. Once that limit is exceeded, users will need to pay. The company is also considering ways to motivate experts to provide more knowledge.

SuperMe also supports MCP (which is the model context protocol; it is a standard that allows AI chatbots to connect to external tools and data). Therefore, users can directly pose questions within chatbots such as Claude and ChatGPT.

This startup currently has about 13 employees. The company is recruiting for technical positions to improve its AI model, which is used for dialogue and question matching with experts; it is also hiring personnel for network expansion to find experts in areas that the platform has not yet covered.

The Green of Forerunner indicates that SuperMe is very suitable for creating a platform that allows AI to collaborate with humans.

In a phone call, she said to TechCrunch: "I think this is also one of the reasons why it’s so timely. It’s a good thing that such a platform has started to establish itself at a relatively early stage of this journey. Because in the future, there will be many lessons to be learned, and these experiences need to be shared so that people can participate in an effective way. I believe the balance lies in building a network that truly has a sharing nature, so that everyone can be motivated and rewarded for contributing their knowledge."
