The Bitcoin held by the Bitan hackers exceeds Coinbase of the company's treasury.

Earlier on Friday, the attacker held 18,270 Bitcoins, exceeding the company's holdings disclosed by Coinbase, and their Ethereum holdings also exceeded 500,000 coins.

It is alleged that on Friday, the attacker who carried out the $6.3 billion Binance hack held more Bitcoin than the amount that the crypto exchange Coinbase had set aside at the end of September for investment and operations.

Blockchain analysis firm Bitquery traced 18,270 Bitcoins (BTC), which is approximately $1.4 billion at the time, distributed across 19 addresses associated with the attackers.

Coinbase reported that as of September 30, it held 17,954 BTC for investment purposes, and another 117 BTC were used for operations, totaling 18,071 BTC. The hacker from Binance held 199 BTC more than this total. The holdings of Coinbase do not include the BTC held on behalf of customers by that exchange.

BitcoinTreasuries.net ranks as the eighth-largest listed company in terms of the number of Bitcoin holdings, based on an investment balance of BTC coins, which amounts to 17,954 Coinbase.

On Friday, Binance confirmed that the company had suffered a hacker attack worth $6.3 billion and stated that approximately $3 billion of the stolen assets had been frozen. The exchange pledged to cover all losses.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs attributes this attack to North Korea's TraderTraitor hacker group. Binance stated that after initially suspecting that a laptop belonging to an DevOps engineer had been compromised, investigators discovered more entry points into the system.

According to Bitquery, the attacker's 17 Bitcoin addresses each hold 1,000 BTC, while the remaining coins are stored in two other wallets. These BTC were stolen from Binance's hot wallets during an intrusion that affected nine blockchains on Thursday and lasted less than four hours.

Bitquery also tracked that, as of the same Friday snapshot, the attacker held 508,621 Ether (ETH), which exceeded the 495,362 Ether (ETH) belonging to The Ether Machine. The Ether Machine ranked third on its list of corporate Ether holders.

Bitquery added that the attackers initially stole 200,630 ETH, and the rest was accumulated through the exchange of stolen stablecoins and other tokens.

When Fans Become Owners: Can Tokenization Unlock Sports Equity?
Julian La Picque believes that the huge valuations of professional sports clubs are almost impossible to be shared by fans, and tokenization may expand the range of participation for minority shareholders through smaller investment units and more convenient digital infrastructure. However, he also points out that tokenization does not create liquidity out of thin air; the real test lies in whether an effective capital market can be established around these assets.
