Why is NVIDIA's stock price falling today? AI Concerns over spending and reports related to Chinese investigations have drawn attention.
In pre-market trading on Friday, NVIDIA's stock price fell by 3.06% to $207.12, a decrease of $6.54 from its closing price of $213.66 on Thursday.
This decline caused the stock to fall below the $210 support level, entering a range of $205 to $208.
Around 5 p.m. Indian time, NASDAQ futures fell by 2.44%, and S&P 500 index futures fell by 1%. Weak performance from Amazon and Intel has once again raised concerns in the market about high AI expenditures.
At the same time, NVIDIA is also facing pressure from a report by The New York Times. The report alleges that an executive Alice Huang from a Singapore-based data center company Megaspeed has been identified by U.S. intelligence agencies as a person affiliated with China and is closely connected to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.
Jensen Huang stated that the dealings between NVIDIA and Megaspeed are part of normal business operations. NVIDIA, on the other hand, indicated that previous claims regarding the transfer of chips by Megaspeed were investigated last year and were ruled out as unfounded.
