Oslo, Norway, November 3rd / PRNewswire / -- Opera Limited (Nasdaq ticker: OPRA) announced today that the company has reached a historic milestone in terms of user base, and also disclosed a preview of its financial results for the third quarter of 2026.
Users of the Opera desktop version reached a milestone of 100 million monthly active users ( MAUs ) in October, setting a new historical high. This figure surpasses the 94 million monthly active users in the second quarter of 2026 and represents a 16% increase from October 2025. The growth of the Opera ARPU platform continues the company's series of innovative product releases, which are in line with its strategy to become the preferred browser for users seeking an alternative to the pre-installed default browsers.
"As a leading browser company, as users adopt the new AI tools and work processes, we are in an increasingly strategic position," said CEO Song Lin. "We focus on making AI more accessible through local browser capabilities and native integration with users' preferred tools, and we have an exciting roadmap ahead of us. We look forward to sharing more details at the upcoming earnings conference call."
Combined with healthy user engagement, Opera achieved strong financial performance in the third quarter. Revenue amounted to 182.8 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 20%, and was at the higher end of the previously projected range of 181 million to 183 million US dollars. The company stated that these results reflect its ability to maintain steady growth in the continuously evolving digital advertising industry.
"Our strong third-quarter performance was driven by both search revenue and advertising revenue, which increased by 17% and 22% year-over-year respectively," said Chief Financial Officer Frode Jacobsen. "Given that our reporting date is later than usual, we would like to share these highlights from the third quarter now. Our reporting schedule allows us to carefully assess trends and to ensure that we set final guidance for the fourth quarter with a consistent and prudent approach as we come to the end of a highly successful year."
Opera will release its full financial report for the third quarter of 2026 before the opening of U.S. stock markets on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. A conference call to discuss the results will be held at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the same day.
