Cleveland, November 3, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Global content intelligence and enterprise-level automation company Hyland announced today the launch of Hyland, for, and Microsoft Teams. This new integration directly brings the content managed by Hyland into Teams, allowing users to search, view, manage, share, and collect content governed by policies without leaving their main collaboration workspace. It also connects Teams with the compatible content libraries of OnBase and Nuxeo.

Millions of employees collaborate within Microsoft Teams every day, yet regulated corporate content is often stored in other places. Hyland indicates that this solution can bridge this gap within regulated industries, without having to choose between productivity and control.

Hyland for Microsoft Teams aims to reduce the need for users to switch back and forth between different applications. The company states that such switching often leads to scattered content. This solution keeps documents in a controlled content library, rather than scattered across chats and channels.

This integration is designed for organizations that are already using OnBase or Nuxeo. It allows the expansion of existing content management systems to Microsoft Teams without the need for migration, duplicate construction of content libraries, or re-establishment of workflows.

Teams has become the core space for employee collaboration, decision-making, and handling of daily work. However, documents and records that are crucial to business are often still stored in separate Hyland content libraries, creating a disconnect between where work is performed and where content management is governed. As more and more work and content flow through Teams, the challenges faced by organizations also increase, including content dispersion, duplicate storage, manual data collection processes, and governance gaps. Hyland indicates that without an integrated experience, employees may bypass existing content management systems in pursuit of speed, which can undermine the value of investment in content management as well as the overall governance strategy of the organization.

Hyland, Director of Industry Solution Product Management, Megan Caraballo stated: "As work unfolds across different platforms in an increasingly fast and fluid manner, our goal is to ensure that content subject to governance constraints can keep up with this workflow, rather than being excluded. Hyland for Microsoft Teams reflect our commitment to being close to employees in the collaborative environments they use every day, without requiring organizations to sacrifice their governance capabilities for that sake."

Let the governed content remain where the work has already taken place.

Hyland indicates that Hyland for Microsoft Teams is specifically designed to address the issue of frequent application switching. At the same time, it helps organizations to keep official content within a compatible Hyland content library, preventing important files and records from accumulating outside the scope of document management control. This solution allows users to directly search for Hyland content within the Teams chat and channels, enabling them to locate information from the content library without leaving the conversation or workspace.

On this basis, users can also view and manage this content within the Teams platform, open, review, and process controlled documents, thereby significantly reducing the need to switch between applications. Users can also share links to the content managed by Hyland, enabling teams to collaborate around official documents while continuing to comply with the governance and security policies of the content library.

This integration also supports directly importing relevant content shared in the Teams conversations into the Hyland content library. The company states that this ensures that information generated during the collaboration process is recorded for long-term management, retention, and governance, rather than remaining scattered across chats and channels.

In addition, the content can also be associated with specific Teams conversations for easy future reference of related information. Administrators can configure the entire integration through Hyland Content Innovation Cloud and obtain the Teams application packages required for deployment.

Jacquelyn Crowhurst, the Chief Solution Architect for Microsoft's corporate partners in the Americas, stated: "Microsoft Teams is the space where our customers collaborate and make decisions every day, and the quality of these decisions ultimately depends on the content that supports them. Hyland for Microsoft Teams embeds credible, governance-compliant corporate content directly into workflows, allowing organizations to advance their work more flexibly without sacrificing the control necessary for their business."

Uncompromising Governance

Hyland indicates that in regulated industries, a lack of content governance is not only inconvenient but also carries risks. In the banking sector, whether it's customer managers preparing for business client meetings, loan specialists dealing with issues of missing loan application documents, or anti-fraud analysts investigating suspicious checks, they can directly search for, retrieve, and manage OnBase content that is subject to governance policies within the Teams dialogue, without having to leave their current work environment.

In the insurance industry, claims teams can collect photos, quotes, and survey reports shared in a dedicated claims channel, and import them directly into the corresponding document types. The company states that this automatically triggers the appropriate workflow, preventing crucial evidence information from being scattered throughout chat records.

The human resources team can also benefit in a similar manner during the recruitment process: resumes and job offer notifications shared on the recruitment channel can be conveniently archived into controlled human resources document types, rather than remaining in uncontrolled chat threads or personal storage spaces.

Hyland indicates that in all of these scenarios, the underlying model is the same: the conversations take place within Teams, but the content, workflow, compliance, and governance remain on the Hyland platform. This distinction enables regulated organizations to provide the speed and flexibility required for modern collaboration to their employees, without exposing compliance, legal, or IT teams to new risks.

For organizations that are already using OnBase or Nuxeo, Hyland indicates that Hyland for Microsoft Teams provides a way to increase user adoption of these systems, protect existing investments, and lay the foundation for broader automation in the future. At the same time, it ensures that content remains under the governance, security, and compliance controls that the organization has come to trust.

Hyland for Microsoft Teams is now available to Hyland customers who use Microsoft Teams as their primary collaboration workspace.
