OMAHA, Nebraska, November 6, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Associated Banc - Corp ( NYSE : ASB ) (" Associated " or "Company") and Associated Bank Foundation announced that they will invest $2.1 million in Nebraska and Iowa Council Bluffs. This includes a donation of $100,000 from Associated Bank to the Western Division of the Salvation Army to support its North Corps Community Center youth programs, as well as a $2 million community investment through Associated Bank Foundation. Associated, President and CEO of Andy Harmening, made this announcement at the Salvation Army Tree of Lights Family Festival. This comes just weeks before the completion of the conversion of American National Bank.
This $2 million in community investment will support community organizations in Nebraska and Council Bluffs. Together, these two commitments mark the first major community investments made by Associated Bank and Associated Bank Foundation in Omaha since customers transferred to Associated Bank in October.
From 2015 to June 2025, American National supported an average of 337 community organizations each year, collaborating with non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, educators, and civic leaders in the region. Associated Bank and Associated Bank Foundation indicate that they will continue this tradition of community engagement, and this investment also leverages the resources of a larger regional bank to carry on this legacy.
Harmening said, "For Associated, becoming a part of Nebraska and Council Bluffs is not just about having a business presence here. More importantly, it's about truly becoming a member of the community by being present, building relationships, and supporting the organizations that make these places livable and suitable for work. We are proud that Associated Bank Foundation will invest 2 million dollars to support organizations that help the community thrive. We know that building a strong community requires partnerships, commitment, and people willing to invest in each other."
Donations to the Salvation Army will begin in January 2027, with a contribution of $25,000 per year for four consecutive years. This funding will support the youth programs at North Corps Community Center, located at 24th Street and Pratt Street in North Omaha, including after-school programs and summer camps. American National Bank previously took the lead in raising capital for the center, and donations from Associated will continue to bring long-term benefits to the community.
The Salvation Army Western Division Development and Execution Director Jeff Beckman stated: "This donation of $100,000 will help to enhance the programs and opportunities we provide at the North Omaha Community Center, creating a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. We are grateful to Associated Bank for their generous contribution to the youth of North Omaha. Partnerships like this will have a meaningful impact on the families and communities we serve."
Associated, the President responsible for the markets in Nebraska and western Iowa, began his career at American National Bank in 2000 as a teller. He later served as the bank's branch manager before joining Associated.
Hansen said, " American National has built a reputation based on its understanding of this community, and this local recognition remains at the core of our services for Nebraska and Council Bluffs. What has changed is the resources we can now bring to the table. The local connections are still there, and now they have greater support in scale, ranging from providing customers with a wider range of banking services to investments like this one that help strengthen the organizations in our community."
Associated completed the conversion of the American National Bank customer account in October 2026. The acquisition was announced in December 2025 and the delivery was completed on April 1, 2026. This not only further strengthened its business in the dual-city metropolitan area but also expanded Associated's business territory to Nebraska and Iowa, as part of the bank's organic growth strategy.
