Meta has recently launched Muse, a new generation of "fluffy" intelligent assistants. Now, the company has introduced Spaces as a new way to communicate and collaborate with these agents.
For now, Spaces is essentially a group conversation centered around a specific topic – however, Meta refers to it as a “customized experience.” They are located in the sidebar of the interface where you interact with Muse. By clicking on a certain Space, the corresponding conversation will open, and Muse will guide you towards a specific goal.
For example, if you want to plan a trip, you can create a new Space specifically for that project; afterwards, every time you need to work on that matter with Muse, you just need to click to open that tab. Alternatively, if you are collecting recipes for an upcoming family event, you can also create a new Space for that project. Other examples given by Meta include a holiday gift tracker, a wedding planner, or a space for a DIY project.
Meta means: "Describe an idea in the chat, and Muse will create a space for you, whether it's a tracker, a planner, or a project dashboard."

Meta also indicates that Spaces can be easily integrated with third-party applications and information as well.
The company states: "After connecting to the applications you use, your information will be automatically updated in the background, so new performance dates, price changes, or savings progress will be displayed without the need for you to ask."
On Friday, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, posted on X about this new feature: “I’ve been playing with Spaces in Muse lately – you tell it what you need, and it builds it for you. I created a barbecue game, an event tracker, and a home control panel. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.”
In the past few months, the Muse proxies – along with their furry avatars – have received relatively positive feedback. Zuckerberg stated during the October earnings call that these proxies now have 10 million users in the United States and Canada, and this is less than two months since they were first launched.
Obviously, the company is continuously improving the user experience around these proxies. In fact, Spaces is the second new feature Muse that Meta has launched in the past week. On Thursday, the company also announced Muse Voice, which allows users to have video chats with proxies and give them instructions via voice.
The company is competing with other equally adorable, furry AI agents, including dots from OpenAI and Grokbot from SpaceXAI. These products also feature similarly cartoonish character designs.
