According to the LinkedIn information of Ng, he has been serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Binance since January 2022. Prior to that, he held the same position at the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken for approximately five years.
It is reported that Ng will be succeeded by Justin Yek, who was previously the Vice President of Finance for Airwallex.
More than a week before this message was published, Binance had just suffered a record-breaking hacker attack worth 6.3 billion US dollars.
Cointelegraph reports that on October 29, hackers stole approximately $6.3 billion from Binance, making it the largest cryptocurrency theft case on record. Binance stated that they will bear the losses themselves and will not pass them on to customers.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and several researchers attributed this attack to North Korean hackers, but North Korea has denied these accusations.
