According to CoinMeta, as reported by crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the Republican Party of the U.S. Senate has released a new version of the Clarity Act text after negotiations during the August recess. There are no changes to the ethical provisions, BRCA, or the provisions related to stablecoin earnings. The main adjustments include: requiring non-decentralized DEFI protocols to register with the CFTC, in line with Section 10301 of the Senate Banking Committee's version; limiting the scope of application of the DEFI provision to digital commodity spot or cash transactions; and further clarifying the authority of credit cooperatives to conduct crypto business.
