According to CoinMeta, Albuquerque, New Mexico, has passed a "Virtual Currency Regulation" that prohibits the installation, operation, or hosting of cryptocurrencies ATM within the city, as well as cryptocurrency transactions assisted by cashiers. Existing cryptocurrency ATM operations must be ceased immediately, and these systems must be removed within 45 days after the regulation takes effect. The city council stated that the regulation does not restrict residents from legally holding, mining, or conducting cryptocurrency transactions through internet platforms.
