According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Japanese fintech company netstars announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kaia DLT Foundation, planning to integrate stablecoins from Kaia into their StarPay and Stablecoin Pay platforms, in order to promote the use of stablecoins in Asian physical stores and cross-border payment scenarios. Both parties will explore supporting stablecoins pegged to the Korean won, Hong Kong dollar, Taiwanese dollar, and major Southeast Asian fiat currencies, and will study models that allow visitors to Japan to pay using stablecoins while merchants settle in Japanese yen. netstars's payment network currently covers approximately 700,000 merchant outlets in Japan, with an annual payment processing volume exceeding 13 billion US dollars.
