Robinhood CEO: Defending Tokenized Stocks, Responding to Criticisms from AMC
2026-09-14 13:21:21
According to CoinMeta, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated in response to the criticisms from AMC entertainment company CEO Adam Aron that issuers should not have a veto over tokenized stock products that do not alter shareholders' rights. Tenev pointed out that if a tokenized product changes the rights or obligations of the underlying stock, the issuer should be involved; however, if the product creates an independent financial instrument that does not change the issuer's rights or shareholders' records, then the issuer's consent is not required. Tenev's comments were made on September 4th following the criticism of AMC CEO towards Robinhood's tokenized stock product.
