Circle CTO: Rolling back the blockchain may undermine trust
2026-09-19 08:00:58
According to CoinMeta, Circle's Chief Product and Technology Officer, Nikhil Chandhok, was asked in an interview on the Bankless channel on September 16th whether the blockchain would be rolled back if lending protocols such as AAVE were deployed on ARC and then attacked by Lazarus, resulting in the theft of tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars in USDC. Nikhil emphasized that ARC is an immutable public financial infrastructure with over 20 validators, and rolling back the blockchain is an extremely significant decision. Breaking this principle of immutability could fundamentally undermine trust, which would be very difficult to rebuild.
