According to CoinMeta, researchers have added EIP-8365 to the Ethereum EIPs repository. Meanwhile, the Ethereum Foundation transferred approximately $2.45 million worth of ETH to an unidentified Gnosis Safe. Although it has not been confirmed whether this transfer was a sale, it has drawn market attention to the price of ETH. The proposal was added on September 17 in draft form and aims to phase out the 0x00 type of verification credential used by Ethereum validators. According to the plan, active validators still using 0x00 will be phased out, and deposits for creating new 0x00 credentials will no longer be processed. Since the Capella upgrade, the number of 0x00 validators has decreased from about 600,000 to 9,290, and the rate of decline has slowed down. The proposal indicates that among the remaining 9,119 validators, 374 have not produced any proofs in the past six months, and 253 have never produced any proofs during a 14-month observation period. Researchers say that these data suggest that the signature keys of these validators may have been lost.
