Robinhood Chain Handles Over 600 Million Transactions: A Comparison of Fees and Revenue with Ethereum
2026-09-20 10:20:53
According to CoinMeta, and based on the articles referenced by digital and asset, Robinhood Chain has processed over 600 million transactions since the end of April, yet the fees paid to Ethereum for these transactions amounted to only about $49,000 during the same period. Another analysis indicates that on September 3rd, Robinhood Chain charged approximately $4.5 million in transaction fees in a single day, while the fees paid to Ethereum were only around $400. The article points out that the transaction fees for L2 are mainly taken by the sorter operators, while Ethereum's direct income may be limited to the data fees mentioned in blob. Although Robinhood Chain uses ETH as an asset and relies on Ethereum to provide data availability, its sorting and verification mechanisms still have strong centralization characteristics. The article argues that the growth in L2 transaction volume does not necessarily translate directly into economic value for Ethereum, and Ethereum needs to further consolidate its role as a cross-platform neutral settlement and security infrastructure.
