Hong Kong SFC and the Financial Services Bureau sign a new Memorandum of Understanding

According to CoinMeta, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) and the Accounting and Financial Reporting Authority (AFRA) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, extending their regulatory cooperation to cover the financial reporting of licensed institutions and funds. The new MoU encompasses the financial and compliance reporting of licensed corporations, virtual asset service providers licensed by the SFC, SFC-recognized funds, and registered open-ended fund companies, as well as the related auditing and attestation work conducted by their accountants. In addition, the MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for information sharing, case referrals, mutual assistance, and coordinated inspections and investigations regarding regulatory matters of common concern to both parties.
