According to CoinMeta, on Monday, Japan's Ministry of Finance proposed to reduce the scale of liquidity-enhancing auctions for medium-term government bonds, reflecting an improvement in the operation of Japan's national debt market as the Bank of Japan continues to reduce its bond purchases. As per a document released by the Ministry of Finance, during a meeting with primary traders, the ministry suggested lowering the monthly issuance volume of national bonds with a remaining term of over 5 years and a maximum of 11 years to 500 billion yen for the quarter from October to December, which is a reduction of 150 billion yen compared to the current quarter.
