Economists say the advantages of the 'seven giants' are under threat
2026-09-28 19:26:14
According to CoinMeta, economist Michael Hartnett stated that companies once known as the "Big Seven" – Apple, Amazon, Google's parent company Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Tesla – although still dominant in certain asset classes, now have their former advantages turned into vulnerabilities. Hartnett pointed out that fiscal excesses have made investors more inclined to invest their funds in more sustainable directions. Global investments in artificial intelligence are expected to exceed one trillion dollars by 2026, and with the rise in bond yields, the borrowing costs for the tech industry are also increasing. This has tied the prospects of the "Big Seven" closely to the asset classes they once used as hedges.
