According to CoinMeta, co-founder Alex Shevchenko disclosed the flow of funds and interception details after Bitget was attacked on September 24th. Approximately $387.5 million in funds were stolen during the incident, with most of the cross-chain funds eventually converging onto Ethereum and being exchanged for ETH. The attackers attempted to transfer over $50 million through NEAR and intents, but their risk identification system Shield identified more than $50 million in money laundering attempts related to the stolen funds after filtering out duplicate transactions. About $166,000 was successfully transferred, while another $503,000 was frozen during the process and is still under restriction, awaiting subsequent legal and asset recovery procedures.
