According to CoinMeta, River Financial has sued Blockstream Services Canada for $6.7 million, accusing them of failing to pay a contract refund. River pointed out that Blockstream Services Canada stopped making payments and breached the contract on March 31, 2026, leading to the lawsuit being filed on September 11. A new judge has been assigned to the case, as the original judge recused themselves. River signed a custody agreement with Blockstream in 2021, prepaying nearly $7.8 million for three services. Under the agreement, Blockstream is supposed to refund approximately $3.5 million in advance payments and $3.1 million in early termination fees.
