Ether.fi CEO Mike Silagadze: With reduced reinvestment yields and associated risks, exiting EigenLayer is the decision to be made
2026-09-29 08:29:11
According to CoinMeta, Ether.fi CEO Mike Silagadze stated that exiting EigenLayer was due to reduced reinvestment yields and associated risks. Ether.fi will sever the last structural link between the staked tokens and EigenLayer by the end of this quarter. As of August, less than 1% of the assets were still in a state of reinvestment, and eigenpod withdrawal options are expected to be removed by the end of the year. When Ether.fi goes live in 2024, deposits will automatically be reinvested on EigenLayer. This August, the company separated reinvestment from weeth, and users now need to choose independent tokens based on symbiotic.
