According to CoinMeta, AI agents such as Meta's Muse and Jolly can shop on behalf of users, but not everyone feels comfortable with this. A survey found that 53% of respondents were uneasy about having AI agents make purchases for them. Although many consumers are willing to let AI agents handle the first two steps of researching and comparing prices, trusting them to complete the final purchase remains a challenge. Another survey conducted by YouGov for ACI Worldwide showed that 74% of consumers would prefer to trust individual AI agents to make purchases, but only 9% would be willing to trust them to shop completely on their own. Although the time for individual AI agents seems to have come, data indicates that there is still a fundamental disconnect between consumers' desire for AI agents to assist with shopping and their trust to allow them to take full control.
