Moonpay Launches a Subsidiary in South Korea, Plans to Expand Its Asia-Pacific Business

According to CoinMeta, the cryptocurrency payment company Moonpay has launched its Korean subsidiary Moonpay Korea and plans to use Korea as a hub for its expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. Moonpay has established partnerships with KakaoBank, Woori Bank, and KB Financial Group; these initiatives cover cross-border payments, distribution of Korean won stablecoins, wallets, and cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal services. Moonpay previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Woori Bank to support the global distribution of Korean won stablecoins, cross-border settlements, wallet integration, and currency exchange infrastructure. This expansion into Korea also includes seeking the necessary local licenses and plans to further integrate these services into the Korean financial system.
