Selling tide of U.S. Treasuries continues, 30-year Treasury yield hits a new high since 2002

According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury market continues to experience selling pressure, with the yield on 30-year Treasuries rising for the sixth consecutive trading day to 5.595%, a new high since 2002. This further increase in yields is mainly due to high energy prices exacerbating inflationary pressures, as well as the increased issuance of new corporate bonds putting pressure on the market. This trend has become another key milestone in the months-long selling spree in the U.S. Treasury market, which is worth trillions of dollars. The global government bond market has also been under pressure recently, with investors beginning to bet that major central banks around the world, including the Federal Reserve, may raise interest rates further, affected by the rise in oil prices caused by conflicts in the Middle East.
