According to CoinMeta, Cboe the global market, in conjunction with the S&P Dow Jones Index, has announced an extension of their exclusive S&P 500 options licensing agreement until 2051, while also indicating a possible exploration of tokenized options as future products. Under the agreement, Cboe will continue to hold the rights to trade options related to the S&P 500 index, which is expected to provide long-term market stability for its shareholders and traders. Cboe's Chief Executive Officer, Craig Donohue, stated that this agreement provides "certainty and continuity" for the company's SPX and VIX businesses. In addition, Cboe also plans to maintain the existing franchise terms in 2026, with revised terms to be implemented after 2027.
