BNP Paribas Completes Cross-Border Remittance of Stablecoin PoC with Solana Foundation
2026-09-30 10:25:56
According to CoinMeta, the Bank of Korea, which is part of the JB financial group in South Korea, has completed cross-border remittances in stablecoins with Solana Foundation and Node Infra. This has established a full process that includes Korean won deposits, stablecoin exchanges, bank custody, cross-border settlements, and local bank payments in a real-world banking environment. The solution utilizes a Solana private channel, meaning that the trading counterparts and amounts are not directly disclosed on the public blockchain. Only the fund deposits and the final settlement results are recorded on the public blockchain. The stablecoin exchanges are also managed by the bank's custody system, rather than relying on external cross-chain bridges. After the relevant South Korean regulations are implemented, the Bank of Korea plans to integrate this technology with its “Bravo Korea” service for foreign residents in the country.
