DeepMind New Research: AI Can Create Giant Oligopolies Without Requiring All Human Experts
2026-10-30 19:28:33
According to CoinMeta, co-founder Shane Legg of DeepMind, along with economists Alex Imas and Andrew Koh, published a paper on the economic impacts of AGI. The paper explores why, while the capabilities of AI continue to surpass those of human experts, there have been no drastic changes in corporate organizations or the job market. The study found that teams with complementary expertise perform better than randomly paired ones, and even though AI can exceed humans in professional tasks, collaboration bottlenecks still limit corporate expansion. The paper points out that there is still a gap in the collaborative capabilities of AI, and current AI models have a lower success rate when working together compared to individual models.
