According to CoinMeta, analysts from three Wall Street institutions – Cantor Fitzgerald, TD Cowen, and Compass Point – believe that the approximately $6.3 billion hacker attack on Binance is unlikely to evolve into a systemic crisis for the crypto industry. The recent market downturn may provide buying opportunities for investors. Cantor expects that cryptocurrencies such as Coinbase, Robinhood, and MicroStrategy are likely to rebound once panic subsides. TD Cowen believes that this attack mainly reflects Binance’s own security issues. Compass Point points out that Binance has the liquidity to absorb losses, but the incident may drive users and trading volume to other centralized exchanges and decentralized platforms like HyperLiquid.
