Blackstone downgrades rating expectations for Anthropic; importance of supplier credit guarantees increases
2026-10-31 04:55:41
According to CoinMeta, and as cited by the Financial Times of the UK based on reports from people familiar with the matter, Blackstone Group has informed investors that Anthropic may not be able to obtain an investment-grade credit rating immediately after listing. It is expected that it is more likely to receive a double-B rating or higher, which represents a change from the previous assessment that it would obtain an investment-grade rating by the end of the year. Due to investment restrictions imposed on some insurance companies and pension funds, which make it difficult for them to hold junk-grade debt on a large scale, Anthropic's future financing channels may be limited, and it may continue to rely on high-credit-rated suppliers to support its debt financing.
