Trump: Inflation has dropped significantly, and incomes have risen

According to CoinMeta, Trump stated that inflation has significantly declined and incomes are rising. Meanwhile, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh holds a more cautious assessment, saying that prices are still too high. Trump pointed out that the United States is entering a "golden age" and predicted lower inflation and stronger incomes before the midterms. However, the Federal Reserve indicates that inflation is still above its long-term target of 2%. Warsh noted that Americans are still dealing with inflation that has been higher than the Fed's target for nearly six years and added that energy and related prices have risen again recently. Fed officials pointed out that sources of price pressure include earlier increases in tariffs, rising energy and input costs related to geopolitical tensions, as well as increases in consumer goods prices associated with the development of artificial intelligence. The Federal Open Market Committee maintained the benchmark interest rate at 3.75% to 4% unchanged, stating that additional economic data will help determine the appropriate policy stance. The Fed reiterated its commitment to bring inflation back to 2%, indicating that policymakers have not yet declared victory in price stability. Nevertheless, the market has performed strongly in 2026, with the S&P 500 index rising by about 12.6%, the Nasdaq Composite Index by about 12.7%, and the Dow Jones Index by about 8.2% so far this year.
