TRM Labs: Cambodian casinos receive over $1.07 billion in crypto assets

According to CoinMeta, as reported by TRM Labs, from January 1 to September 7, 2026, 34 casinos in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, received approximately $1.07 billion in cryptocurrency assets. Of this amount, about $687 million, or 64%, flowed into casinos associated with the sanctions network of the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). 99.9% of the funds were in the form of tokens on the Polkadot (TRON) blockchain. Three affiliated casino entities continued to receive over $320 million even after the relevant sanctions took effect. TRM noted that despite Cambodia's ongoing efforts to combat fraud, local casinos and exchange points still have significant shortcomings in customer due diligence, and the frequent changes in wallets by operators further complicate tracking efforts.
