According to CoinMeta, and as reported by CCTV News, Qatari mediators held talks with Iranian officials for over 12 hours on October 30 in Tehran, with the aim of facilitating an agreement between the United States and Iran to avoid another conflict after the U.S. mid-term elections. The talks will continue on October 31 in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and sources indicate that positive progress has been made. The Qatari side maintains contact with the White House and is urging the U.S. and Iran to reach an agreement on a series of reciprocal measures, which are to be implemented in the coming days to facilitate direct negotiations on issues such as Iran's nuclear program. Qatar is also making efforts to persuade Iran to allow United Nations inspectors to access the previously bombed nuclear facilities as a measure to "build confidence." U.S. officials have stated that the mutually contradictory demands of both sides are hindering the negotiations.
