Revolut was alleged to have leaked customer data in a targeted attack. Chain investigator ZachXBT stated that the incident arose from the company mistakenly treating a forged government information request as a legitimate one.
Scope of information leaked
It is alleged that the leaked information includes names, contact details, identification documents, verification selfies, IBAN, bank statements, withdrawal records, and transaction history.
It also includes Bitcoin transaction records. The report does not disclose the total number of people affected, but so far, it seems that the number of accounts involved is limited.
May be targeted at high-net-worth clients
The report mentions that this incident may have targeted high-net-worth customers. Some affected users have already received notification emails sent by Revolut.
