On Tuesday, President Trump and several leaders of AI announced the signing of a voluntary agreement called "Frontier Responsibility Joint Commitment," pledging to strengthen controls and security measures for the rapid development of artificial intelligence. However, in the photo of the agreement signing shared by Trump on Truth Social, the United States was misspelled as Unites States.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump, along with several leaders from the AI industry, announced the signing of an agreement titled "Frontier Responsibility Joint Commitment" ( Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities ). This is a voluntary commitment aimed at implementing more control measures and security initiatives as artificial intelligence continues to develop rapidly.

But there seems to be a problem with this agreement – in the photo of the signed agreement shared by Trump on Truth Social, “United States” was spelled as “Unites States”. This spelling mistake appears below the president’s signature, while the spellings of the other signatories and their company names are correct. Journalist Matt Novak was one of the first to point out this error, and TechCrunch has also contacted the White House for a comment on this matter.

This spelling mistake may indicate that not much time and attention were devoted to the drafting process before the document was signed and released to the public. This announcement comes after several AI leaders, including Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, Jensen Huang of NVIDIA, and Dario Amodei of Anthropic, visited the White House again to discuss the progress of AI. This gathering took place just a few weeks after OpenAI's Sam Altman and Amodei; moreover, Elon Musk once again called for a slowdown in the development of AI. Both Trump and Jensen Huang had previously rejected such calls. Trump stated earlier, "We are the most advanced country in the world, and to be honest, I want to maintain this status, because whoever wins AI wins."

This commitment seems to be an effort to find a compromise between the two parties. The document outlines how companies that train and deploy cutting-edge models should “ensure that their technology operates as expected, and that any issues can be quickly identified and resolved.” This includes introducing an independent board of directors for supervision, as well as implementing internal controls. The commitment is voluntary in nature, and it does not seem to carry any legal or regulatory consequences if any signatory violates it.

At the press conference after the meeting on Tuesday, Zuckerberg called this agreement a "beginning," believing that "the entire industry could move in this direction," and added that "this is considered a historic conversation."

In addition, through an executive order, the president also required all government departments and agencies to change the designation of " artificial intelligence " (artificial intelligence) to " superintelligence " or " SI ".
