News from the IT family on October 7th: Pimax (Xiaopai) released a new generation of headsets, Crystal Pro, yesterday local time. This model can be used as a VR all-in-one device, and also supports the PC VR display terminal mode.

Crystal Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen1 processor. In terms of display, it uses aspherical glass lenses combined with a single-eye 576-zone QD Mini LED panel. The single-eye resolution is 2880×2880, supporting 72/90/120 Hz refresh rates. The horizontal field of view ( FOV ) reaches 110°, and it is powered by a 16000mAh battery pack.
This headset comes standard with regular Wi-Fi streaming support, and offers the option of DisplayPort 1.4a wired connection as well as the third-generation 60GHz millimeter-wave AirLink connectivity kit. The latter takes the lead in supporting 2×2 MIMO in the VR domain, with a theoretical total throughput of 6Gbps and an additional latency of <2ms.
In terms of tracking technology, Crystal Pro combines eye-tracking, the SLAM 2.0 tracking approach from the inside out, as well as replaceable panels. It can be optionally equipped with a Lighthouse laser positioning panel that supports full-color transparency and depth perception, as well as a MR mixed reality panel.
IT has learned that the price of Crystal Pro is 1,399 US dollars (which is approximately 9,390 yuan at the current exchange rate), and the price of the set including AirLink is 1,899 US dollars (which is approximately 12,746 yuan at the current exchange rate); the individual price of AirLink is 599 US dollars (which is approximately 4,020 yuan at the current exchange rate).

During the same period, Pimax also released a loop-free VR controller and a PC VR dedicated Spation desktop computer. The former utilizes camera-based hand tracking as well as infrared and motion sensor tracking, with a latency of less than 15ms; the latter supports Windows and SteamOS systems.
