Tallahassee, FL, October 7th / PRNewswire / -- Non-profit organization Federal Alliance for Safe Homes ( FLASH ) announced today that it is expanding its national partnerships by adding two new leading partners: the Insurance Commissioner of Louisiana Tim Temple and the Insurance Commissioner of Florida Michael Yaworsky – as well as two new corporate members James Hardie and CitroTech.

FLASH indicates that these leaders and organizations bring professional expertise in areas such as insurance regulation, resilient construction, building products, innovation, and wildfire prevention. Their participation will strengthen the cross-industry collaboration at the core of the FLASH mission: to enhance residential buildings and protect family safety in various types of disasters.

Tim Temple, Insurance Commissioner of Louisiana– Temple was elected in 2023, having previously worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years. As the Chief Insurance Regulator of Louisiana, his focus is on protecting consumers while promoting a competitive and responsive insurance market.

Temple indicates that investing in disaster mitigation and strengthening residences before disasters strike can have a significant impact on families, communities, and the insurance market. Through initiatives such as Louisiana's Fortify Homes program, we are demonstrating how FORTIFIED construction methods can help reduce risks, strengthen homes, and support a more resilient insurance market. Michael Yaworsky, Florida Insurance Commissioner– Since March 2023, Yaworsky has been leading the Florida Department of Insurance. He oversees one of the largest and most complex insurance markets in the United States and possesses extensive experience in the intersection of insurance policies, consumer protection, market stability, and disaster resilience.

Yaworsky represents: "Florida truly understands the importance of building more resilient homes before disasters occur to reduce risks.
