News from the IT community on October 8th: At a press conference held in San Francisco, USA, at 10 a.m. on October 7th (1 a.m. on October 8th Beijing time), NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated, "NVIDIA was originally born because of Windows."
In this event, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, and Srinivasa Krishnan, former senior artificial intelligence policy advisor to the White House, engaged in a dialogue.
Jensen Huang stated at the beginning, "NVIDIA was founded because of the Windows system. The Windows 95 system made it possible for GPU to connect to PC, which was crucial for the early development of PC graphics technology." This is essentially the origin story of NVIDIA's parallel computing platform CUDA.
Jensen Huang said, "We want the best Blender in the world, the best Omniverse in the world, the best CUDA in the world... All of these need to run on the same computer together with AI."
Jensen Huang emphasized that AI computing should not only exist in large data centers but will also gradually enter the desktop environments of developers and enterprise users. As model sizes increase and the demand for privacy, low latency, and local processing grows, personal devices need to have stronger AI inference and development capabilities.

Jensen Huang's speech also indicated that NVIDIA hopes to further strengthen its integration with the Microsoft ecosystem. By bringing high-performance GPUs, unified memory, and a cohesive software stack to Windows devices, developers will be able to build and run applications in a familiar operating system environment.
