News from the IT family on October 8th: Digital blogger @DigitalChatStation just revealed that Visionox has achieved the world's first mass production of a combination of 2K resolution and 185Hz refresh rate, and has developed a new lighting material based on the fourth-generation pTSF lighting technology.
The blogger mentioned that the new screen has made breakthroughs in terms of brightness, lifespan, and display quality, and hinted that "a new device with a 2K 185Hz panel will be unveiled on iQOO in October." In addition, it seems that Honor will also launch new devices featuring this 2K 185Hz panel.

Public reports indicate that the pTSF (Note from IT: Phosphorescent-assisted thermally activated sensitized fluorescence) technology was jointly developed by Tsinghua University in collaboration with domestic companies such as Visionox, and mass production for commercial use was announced in December 2025.
This technology uses a "relay" method to transfer energy: The TADF material acts as a sensitizer to rapidly convert energy, which is then transferred to high-color-purity fluorescent dyes for light emission. Compared to the previous generation of screens, screens equipped with high-efficiency pTSF devices have a power consumption reduction of over 12% and a lifespan increase of 15%; wide-color gamut pTSF devices can expand the color gamut from traditional DCI-P3 to Adobe and BT.2020 standards, while also reducing power consumption by more than 6%.
Visionox already has a precedent for cooperation with iQOO. The iQOO Neo11 Ultimate Edition was released in August 2026, featuring Visionox's F2 luminescent materials for the first time globally. It is equipped with a 6.83-inch 2K 144Hz LTPS direct-screen display and supports a full-screen brightness of 2000 nits.
It should be noted that a 185Hz refresh rate is not a new concept for mobile phone screens. Tianma Microelectronics announced the mass production of 185Hz AMOLED displays in December 2025, and the OnePlus 16 was scheduled to be released on October 12th, with official information indicating that it has a 185Hz refresh rate.
