San Francisco, October 28th / PRNewswire / -- The Social Engineering Defense ( SED ) platform Doppel announced today that it has been selected for the 2026-2027 Fortune Cyber 60 Best Companies list for the second consecutive year.
This list was jointly launched by the editorial staff of Fortune, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and AWS. It aims to honor 60 startup companies that are shaping the future of cybersecurity and are supported by venture capital. The selection criteria include financial performance, business operations, growth, as well as research in the cybersecurity market.
The company stated that as AI makes phishing and other social engineering attacks more complex, personalized, and easier to spread on a large scale through multiple channels, the limitations of traditional network security defenses become increasingly apparent. Doppel was established from the beginning to address this new environment and to protect organizations from the impact of the entire social engineering attack chain. This platform, driven by agentic and AI, integrates digital risk protection, human risk management, and email security to detect and correlate attacks across channels, dismantle the infrastructure behind these attacks, and enhance employees' ability to resist evolving tactics.
Doppel, Co-Founder and CEO, Kevin Tian said: "Being listed in the Fortune Cyber 60 list for the second consecutive year is a significant moment for our team and reflects the progress our company has made. As we have seen in recent weeks, phishing techniques have become more sophisticated, and attackers are more capable than ever before. We are at a turning point in cybersecurity. As an industry, it is our responsibility to provide defenders with the technology and resources they need to stay ahead of these threats. I am proud of what we have achieved so far, and we have just begun."
This recognition also adds another feather to the cap for Doppel's year of continued growth and expansion in 2026. The company stated that in 2026, its global presence expanded to Japan and Toronto, and new features including email security were launched on their social engineering defense platform. The number of employees officially exceeded 300. Doppel was also selected for Fast Company's 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list, and won an award in the Sil token issuance nANGLE TechForward Awards AI threat detection category in 2026.
Fortune’s Cyber 60 Methodology: This list was developed in collaboration by Fortune with Lightspeed Venture Partners and AWS to honor 60 of the most important venture-capital-backed cybersecurity startups that have not yet undergone IPO, acquisitions, or other major exits. The companies are categorized into three stages, with 20 startups in each category—early stage, early growth stage, and growth stage—and are arranged alphabetically within their respective categories. The selection is based on financial performance, growth, business operations, and cybersecurity market research. The final list is reviewed and verified by Fortune. The complete methodology can be viewed here.

About Doppel
Doppel is a Frontier AI platform designed for social engineering defense ( SED ). It protects individuals and brands from impersonation, phishing, fraud, and deception driven by AI through three solutions that run on Doppel Superintelligence Layer. Digital risk protection ( DRP ) can detect threats at the stage of attack formation, map the attacker's infrastructure across channels, and dismantle it before the attack is launched. Email security protects inboxes by identifying the infrastructure behind each email and removing that infrastructure, thereby preventing subsequent attacks against the same targets. Human risk management ( HRM ) strengthens the targets identified by attackers by transforming real-time threats into simulations and training, and measures risks based on users and teams. All signals flow through a shared Threat Graph, so any threat detected anywhere can enhance all defenses; a self-repairing agent then fixes any missed detections. Together, these three components disrupt the social engineering attack chain, advancing Doppel's mission to protect the world from social engineering attacks every day.
