Korea Hana Bank issues $100 million in foreign currency digital bonds

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Yonhap News, on September 21st, Hana Bank of Korea announced the issuance of a $100 million, five-year foreign currency digital bond using the blockchain platform of the European Clearing House (euroclear). This is the first time in South Korea that a digital bond has been issued directly using blockchain infrastructure (euroclear). The issuance, registration, and settlement of the bonds were all processed through a distributed ledger network, reducing the settlement time from the usual 3 to 5 working days to the same day, allowing investors to trade through their existing accounts and trading systems.
