Nvidia: The sales of H200 chips in China are still less than 1%

According to CoinMeta, Nvidia stated in its latest quarterly financial report that the sales of its H200 AI chips in China were still less than 1%. Despite obtaining permission from the US government to export H200 chips to China, the actual sales volume remained low. With Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States from September 23 to 25, the sales gap for Nvidia once again came into focus. Nvidia mentioned that due to restrictions imposed by the Chinese government, not all licensed H200 products could be sold. Additionally, the current process requires that licensed chips undergo inspection in the United States, which incurs a 25% import tariff, and Nvidia is unable to pass on this cost to buyers. The company incurred $400 million in expenses during the first half of the fiscal year due to excess H200 inventory and procurement obligations. Despite these challenges, Nvidia's overall AI business continued to grow, with data center revenue reaching $89 billion in the latest quarter, a year-on-year increase of 117%.
