According to CoinMeta, the Trump administration is preparing to impose a 90-day ban on diesel exports from the United States, which is expected to be announced before this weekend. According to reports from Politico, diesel prices in the U.S. have already exceeded $6.50 per gallon, adding pressure to fuel costs ahead of the midterms. Energy Secretary Chris Wright ( Chris Wright ) informed CEOs of energy companies that the ban is imminent, which has sparked strong opposition from the White House. According to The Wall Street Journal, the ban could result in a reduction of about 2 million barrels per day in refinery production and up to 750,000 barrels per day in gasoline production. Although the ban is intended to lower diesel prices, it may instead drive up gasoline and jet fuel prices due to the reduced refining output.
