Basel Committee on Banking Supervision: Changes in Banks' Exposure to Crypto Assets in the Second Half of 2025

CoinMeta data: According to the latest statistics from the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision ( BCBS ), in the second half of 2025, banks' prudent exposure to crypto assets remained relatively unchanged compared to the first half, but there were significant changes in the asset structure. Among the exposures related to Bank of America, the proportion of BTC decreased from 75.8% to 44.2%, while ETH increased to 38.5%, and SOL and XRP accounted for 7.8% and 5.6% respectively. At the same time, the crypto business conducted on behalf of customers by banks grew more rapidly: in the Americas, the volume increased by 93% to 6.4 billion euros on a month-on-month basis, while in Europe it decreased by 25% to 1.9 billion euros.
