Riot Platforms Completes Full Repayment of $200 Million in Bitcoin Collateral Credit

Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms ( Riot ) completed the full voluntary repayment on September 21st, officially terminating a $200 million Bitcoin collateral credit line from Coinbase Credit. The principal and accrued interest were paid in full, with no early termination penalties incurred. The revised annual fixed interest rate for this loan was 6.15% (annual interest of approximately $12.3 million), with the maturity date originally set for April 2027. After the repayment was completed, Coinbase's guarantee rights over the pledged collateral were fully released. As of June 30, 2026, Riot had pledged 5,821 Bitcoins (valued at about $340.7 million at that time) for this loan, which accounted for approximately 51% of its total holdings of 11,380 Bitcoins.
