According to CoinMeta, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barro stated that the military assistance provided by France to Saudi Arabia is aimed at helping it deal with attacks from the Houthi forces in Yemen and is considered "strictly defensive" support. French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday that France would send troops, radar units, and "defense systems" to Saudi Arabia. When asked whether this military assistance meant that France had become a partner of Saudi Arabia in the war against the Houthi forces, Barro said, "Absolutely not. It is purely defensive. Since the (US-Israeli) war against Iran began, we have deployed military forces to protect our allies and partners. But does that mean we could be seen as co-belligerents at any time? Never."
