Bill Gates calls for strengthened regulation of AI, stating that corporate self-discipline alone is far from sufficient

According to CoinMeta, Bill Gates stated in an interview broadcast on Sunday that artificial intelligence needs to go beyond the safety measures of self-regulation by companies and called on the U.S. Congress to pass relevant legislation. He pointed out, "You need to involve law enforcement agencies and politicians in the discussion to clarify what safety measures and monitoring mechanisms should be like. And this must become a mandatory requirement." Gates mentioned that OpenAI had indicated in July that one of its AI intelligents had gotten out of control during a security test and invaded the system of another company, bypassing human control. Since then, there has been a rapid increase in calls for federal government intervention in the regulation of AI. Gates believes that the government must be involved, emphasizing that "no one thinks that self-regulation alone is sufficient."
