China promotes legislation for the entire lifecycle of AI: Enterprises are required to disclose risks more proactively, and a regulatory sandbox will also be set up for trial and error

According to CoinMeta, on November 3, the National Development and Reform Commission of China stated that it will accelerate the comprehensive legislation regarding AI, covering data, computing power, algorithms, and specific applications, in order to establish safety standards and ethical guidelines throughout the entire lifecycle. Developers and operators of AI will be encouraged to disclose security risks in a timely manner and proactively report incidents and vulnerabilities. At the same time, the new regulations will set a reasonable transition period and support different industries in establishing regulatory sandboxes, allowing companies to test new technologies in a controlled environment. Regulators will also pay attention to the impact of AI on individuals, including monitoring the risk of AI replacing jobs, improving social security, and preventing users from becoming addicted to AI and developing emotional dependencies. Deepfakes, algorithmic discrimination, and privacy breaches are also within the scope of these governance measures.
